New Moon in Aquarius(/Pisces)

New Moon in Aquarius and Pisces
February 18th, 2015 5:47pm CST

The Sun and Moon are each about half a degree wide, or 30 minutes. When either the Sun or Moon is closer than about one quarter of a degree to a sign’s cusp, it is in both signs. This particular New Moon is quite an anomaly, because the center of both the Sun and the Moon will be within 7 seconds (0.00194 degrees) of the cusp between Aquarius and Pisces.

What seeds shall we plant with this Moon on the threshold of two worlds? This event is dropping a number of hints that a “chapter change” will be coming to light for many this month. This chart tells some stories of releasing rational limitations in order to experience more transrational realizations (which might not be such a comfy process).

Aquarius and Pisces are the last two signs of the zodiac, ruled by Uranus and Neptune in our modern cosmology (the two “planets” farthest from the Sun), and Saturn and Jupiter traditionally (the two planets farthest from the Sun that are visible to the naked eye). These last two signs are the most transpersonal of the twelve, governing the thoughts (Aquarius) and feelings (Pisces) of the collective.

This New Moon is at the charged midpoint of Uranus and Pluto

The Uranus-Pluto square (2012 – 2015) is approaching its final pass next month, and the unsettling vibrations of some old “tried and true” structures that are falling down just might be brightly illuminated this month. We probably won’t understand many of the changes catalyzed during this important time period until a few years down the line, but some uncomfortable punchlines about what needs to change in our lives and our world is likely to get louder now. Change is scary when the next step is still a mystery.

This Moon is conjunct with Neptune in Pisces

Neptune in Pisces (~2011 – 2026) is ushering in new experiences of spirituality and compassion for all with ears to hear. The human family is one family, but rational knowledge of this idea doesn’t mean much without the emotional and spiritual experience of this truth. This Moon invites us to plant more seeds of universal connection.

Venus and Mars are (almost) conjunct in the final degrees of Pisces

This is the very end of the zodiac, and the two planets of love and war are coming together to kiss and makeup. Notice what shadows come up for you (inside or out) around escapism, addiction, or denial (Pisces). What old interpersonal wounds are bubbling to the surface? Make a decision to release limitations of ancient stories that left you feeling rejected or unworthy. Invite new vistas of healthy masculinity and femininity to your experiences, and to our world. The equality of the sexes has come a long way, baby, but we’ve got some work left to do.

Please plant good seeds with this magic Moon.
