Lunar Eclipse in Libra

LibranEclipseFull Moon (Eclipse!) in Libra
April 15th, 2:42am CDT

Sabian Symbol for the degree of the Moon (Libra26):
AN EAGLE AND A LARGE WHITE DOVE TURN INTO EACH OTHER
Keynote: The interaction of the spiritual Will and of the Love principle when critical needs arise.

I include the Sabian symbol because its image is so poignant. This Lunar Eclipse is asking all of us to question our relationships to power, and to invite new understandings about right relationship and right action in our lives.

(More about the meaning of this image from Dane Rudhyar’s Sabian symbol book: An Astrological Mandala):
“Consciousness operates beyond duality, because the polarized energies of the Soul (or spirit), Will and Love, though ever distinct, work for a single purpose.”

This eclipse offers an opportunity to release hangups around power. It’s time to get our priorities straight, and take responsibility for right use of our time and energy. What material limitations are being highlighted right now? What limiting beliefs? Decide to release attachments to old “comfortable” limitations now; it’s time for some better challenges.

Mars is (still) in Libra:

If you go outside tonight, you might notice that bright planet just a bit west of the Moon. That’s Mars in all his glory. We’re  close to him right now, so the warrior is shining very brightly. He’s currently retrograde in Libra, the sign of his detriment (where he’s been since December and will stay through July 25th). Mars is about self-serving desire and action, and Libra is about deliberation and interpersonal connection. Needless to say, some intense challenges are coming up in many intimate partnerships.

“Right relationship” is a wonderful term to ponder the heck out of (maybe in places you never have before) at this time.

Pluto in Capricorn is standing still to turn retrograde during this eclipse:

Capricorn is the territory of material power in our world, and Pluto(the rebirther)’s transit of this sign (~2008-2024) is scaring those who have too much material power into clinging onto it in even crazier ways. Climate change is getting worse, yet the fossil fuel tycoons (and most of us drivers) don’t seem to be noticing. On a more personal level, the modern world’s moneyed games of material power are wreaking havoc. In the words of Jimmy McMillan: “The rent is too damn high!”

You didn’t come to planet earth to make ends meet. You came here for a breathtakingly beautiful (and at times hellishly challenging) adventure with all kinds of sacred meaning. It’s time to invite more of that sacred meaning to the plate.

The Sun, Venus, and Jupiter are all in their signs of exaltation:

The source of life itself (Sun), the goddess of love (Venus), and the guru himself (Jupiter) are all highly dignified in this chart, and there is quite a silver lining to this “Blood Moon.”

Venus in Pisces is trine to Jupiter in Cancer, and this happy couple is dishing out ladles of compassion, joy, and spiritual communion to all who take the time to ask. Is there enough magic in your life? Are you meeting with moments of beauty and wonder each day? Are you engaging the mystery with music, dreams, and sacred connections?

Decide with this Moon to invite more beauty and divinity into your perceptions. Find new faith in the human family, and notice all the ways you can ignite healing inspiration for yourself and others.

We’re navigating a very restless window of intense change, and this eclipse is a great opportunity to see and release old consciousness structures that are weighing us down. Release the need for control and security, and invite the magic of these crazy changes, inside and out.

Cheers,
Adam Wolter

P.S. This eclipse is exactly opposite to our last lunar eclipse on 10/18/13. Notice what material is coming up again that was center stage at that time.
