This Full Moon offers us a chance to swab the decks before the start of the new year at the Vernal Equinox on March 20th. We are riding a crazy wave of change, and a firestorm of the biggest breakdowns and breakthroughs of this decade are likely to be sparked over the course of the next two months. What work do you have cut out for yourself? What breakthroughs are on the horizon at this time?

This Full Moon in Virgo is a great time to give thanks for hard work you’ve accomplished. What industrious structures of scheduling, money-making, tax-paying, gym-going, smoothy-making healthiness are you feeling great about? Virgo’s wisdom is about clarification, so go ahead and quantify the progress you’re making in departments that are important for you.

The Full Moon in Virgo is also a wonderful time to decide to let go of any obsessive worry-wartings about getting your (or anyone else’s) ducks in a row. Self-limiting perfectionism is the shadow of Virgo, and this Moon can help you to let go of it.

Mercury (ruler of Virgo) is tracing over the tail end of Aquarius, (and the midpoint of Uranus and Pluto!) making a final pass of the retrograde zone he’s been dancing in since late January. Curiosity might kill some cats, but over-analysis, indecision, and regret lead some cats to suicide. There are a lot of strings pulling in a lot of directions now, and this Moon is a chance to clarify and commit to your highest priorities. Let go of your need for clearly polished plans.

Mars is retrograde in Libra, inching back towards completing the Cardinal Grand Cross which is the symbol of drastic, rapid change in our sky. Mars (what I want) is in his detriment in Libra (“what do you want?”), and this is a time to reconsider the programs of patriarchal power that have co-opted sections of your psyche.

Libra is all about expectations, and when Mars is here, we notice what expectations of self and others are pushing our buttons. Who holds the power in the confrontations you’re navigating? Are you standing up for yourself? Are you pointing your finger at others who you envy?

This momentous time of change is about revisioning our understandings of power: internally and externally. Challenge the meanings (and practical structures) of money, love, and right livelihood in your own life now. Question the structures of power that the military, the fossil fuel industry, the banks, big pharma, big agribusiness, and all of their lobbyists and government pawns are cooking up. How are you standing up to Big Brother?

It’s time.
