Full Moon in Taurus

Happy Full Moon in Taurus
November 17th, 9:16am CST

Taurus is the sign of the Moon’s exaltation, where simple pleasures and sensory delights come out to play: good food, good wine, good music, some money to play with, and beautiful surroundings in which to luxuriate. This Full Moon invites us to pine for more of these experiences, and/or to get really peeved about where we (or others) are at a deficit regarding these pleasures, and to make some choices about what we’d like to change.

This Full Moon in Taurus is not an eclipse, but it has its roots in our Solar Eclipse from 2 weeks ago, and the energies are still potentially very uncomfortable. The axis of this Moon activates the unpredictable, transformational Uranus-Pluto square, and the ruler of the Sun’s sign and the Moon’s sign (Pluto and Venus respectively) are conjunct.

Challenging questions and feelings around wealth (money, power, land, and food) and the fair sharing of it are scheduled to come to the fore even more vociferously over the course of the next two weeks.

Money and power are currently created and driven by “profit motive,” and it is time to question the efficacy of this prime mover more rigorously than ever before. The horrendous effects of typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines show that climate change is no joke: fossil-fuel addiction is killing our people!

So… what can you do about it?

Some Taurean solutions are in order:

  • Clean up your own act: treat your body with deep love and respect, and ditch your identity as a consumer by ditching “things” you don’t need any longer.
  • Make delicious, healthy food to share.
  • House/body cleaning: your home is a part of the planet that you can heal, so love it up.
  • Music-making, dance-doing, and all around freedom-of-expression-ing are wonderful medicines that can help you to understand what deep wisdom wants to come to light with this Moon.

This is a very rich (and loaded) time to reflect on intimate relationships, and to explore what is and isn’t working in your deepest transformational, power-sharing connections (past, present, and future).

Samhain was a week-and-a-half ago, but the ancestors seem to be here in full force with this Moon. Accept and invite their love and support with gratitude and forgiveness. Welcome the expression of the compassionate, ages-old wisdom that is recorded in your bones. Welcome the emergence of a more compassionate, intelligent, and connected human race.

Blessings to you,
Adam Wolter
