Happy Summer Solstice

Summer SolsticeSummer Solstice

June 21, 2013 12:04am CDT

The Sun has entered Cancer, and the lazy days of Summer are here again.

Cancer is the Moon’s sign, and the territory of early childhood imprints and felt sense understandings of home and tribal belonging. Dive into nostalgia about your roots this month, and generate a field of gratitude for all the nurturing experiences of “family” and you’ve known in this life.

The Sun’s shift into Cancer is particularly charged with family-healing mojo this year, as Jupiter is close behind. Jupiter has been in Gemini (sign of his detriment) since June 11, 2012, and will enter Cancer (sign of his exaltation!) June 25, 2013 to form a very healing and paradigm-shifting Grand Trine with Saturn and Neptune in the water signs (exact July 17, 2013).

Jupiter is the largest planet of our solar system (more than twice as massive as all other planets combined, followed in weight by Saturn and Neptune respectively) and as such, his energies are always larger than life. Jupiter brings idealistic orientation to the larger stories of our lives and our world. His ingress into Cancer is bringing a new spark of inspired optimism to the tales of “Our People” that we’re telling.

The Moon was void-of-course in Scorpio at the time of the Solstice, indicating a release of old emotional programs. The limiting notion that a nuclear family is a healthy family has been on its way out for years. Release your definitions of what a family “oughta be” and listen to the call of emotional responsibility for a larger family that is now sounding.

This Solstice is asking all of us to take a new pledge of faith in the human family and to tell new stories about the healing of our homes and our people. What do you believe about the future our children will be navigating? Start believing better things now.

Limiting dogma from our old religions and our ineffective consciousness habits is burning, and new faith is rising up out of those ashes.

Find that faith and fan those flames!

Cheers- Adam Wolter
