Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius

Penumbral Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius

May 24, 9:25pm PDT

Happy Lunar Eclipse!

This Full Moon is a ripe one. It’s the last eclipse in a series on the Gemini/Sagittarius axis that started with a Lunar Eclipse in Gemini on December 21st, 2010. Since then (for the most part), the Moon’s North Node has been in Sagittarius, helping us to learn how to let go of superfluous details (Gemini), and to set our sights on higher goals and aspirations (Sagittarius).

“Faith” is a keyword for what has been growing during this period. Have you found faith in a community that supports you in your growth? Do you know others who are living heroic lives, who are helping you to make more of a difference with yours? Have you found new appreciation for the elders and ancestors who are here supporting us?

Tonight is a very rich time to give thanks for and to release attachment to any big lessons and initiations you’ve navigated over the last couple years. Sagittarius is the land of high mythology and religion, so celebrate the big picture stories of your life. Notice what still hurts, and notice all that’s glowing brighter, and generate a field of radiant gratitude. Send your appreciation out to all the communities that you feel a part of.

This Moon has some very confusing energies wrapped up in it, as Neptune is square to both the Sun and Moon. Neptune is the planet farthest from the Sun, and invites us to connect directly with the divine (sans dogma), but she also invites us into delusional escapism, addiction, and victimhood. This Full Moon is asking us to bring light to any limiting beliefs that we’re still addicted to. The message here is that it’s time to let go of consciousness frameworks that have outlived their usefulness. Release the stories that keep you from experiencing your divinity in this present moment.

The Moon’s North Node has now entered Scorpio (3 eclipses on the Taurus/Scorpio axis so far), and our lessons over the next couple years will be centered around more intimate issues: sharing money, love, power, and releasing our needs for comfort (Taurus) to generate more transformational cooperation (Scorpio).

Venus (goddess of connection and lovey-dovey delight) is now our bright evening star (and will be til December!) She is currently joined by Jupiter and Mercury, and the three are dancing together in a stellium this week, inviting some very inspiring and heart-warming sharings and joy-makings.

This Full Moon invites us to give thanks for all the community we’ve woven, and this upcoming week will offer many opportunities to see beautiful people shining in beautiful ways. It’s time to let go of your old-time religion (or anti-religion), and have a good time with your neighbors.

Peace! -Adam Wolter
